BEHIND THE VISION

Hey Horse Girl,

I’m Lauren- And I’m so happy you’re here! If you are anything like me, you caught the horse bug so early you can’t even remember when it happened. I’ve been taking photos of horses & their people for nearly a decade and formally opened the gates to my business 5 years ago. Here is a little bit more about me..

I am 24 years old & call Traverse City, Michigan my home (Hello Great Lakes Equestrian Festival!). I’m fueled by coffee, art, traveling, photography, and my two Shetland Sheepdogs Marty and Finn. I grew up taking riding lessons and like most of us, couldn’t get enough “horse-time” in.. Before I knew it, I found myself at the barn with a camera in hand, supporting my friends and loving on their horses as if they were my own.

With college on the horizon, I leaped toward my creative goals and graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from The College For Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan. In my four years there, I established a fine art background, studying figurative oil painting, graphic design, and illustration. I emerged from CCS with a unique perspective and creative voice.

What Next?

I found myself fascinated by the discipline of Dressage. The seamless harmony of each partnership, the athletic willingness of the horse, the delicate finesse required to execute each movement with breathtaking perfection – Dressage is an art form that ignites butterflies within me, similar to the way a masterpiece comes to life. My lens and I simply can’t get enough!

Nowadays, you will find me traveling to Wellington, Florida for photoshoots, creating artwork in my studio, exploring the outdoors with my dogs, or at the barn with my newest adventure.. Rosie. Rosie is a 4-year-old Oldenburg Mare out of Golden West NRW. Words can’t describe how blessed I feel for the opportunity to have my own horse. She is the accumulation of all of my pursuits, a childhood dream turned reality that wouldn’t be possible without you all.
